Why Jamaicans Run So Fast
The outstanding performance of Jamaica's track and field team at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing has left may people pondering and wondering why Jamaicans can run so fast. Is it the yams that are such a key part of our diet? Is it the warrior genes? Is it the specialized coaching and youth athlete development programs? Or is it the sound of that device (gun) that has unfortunately helped to put Jamaica among the top 3 highest per capita murder rates in the world.
